A symposium on a revolutionary method in neurobiology and the role of creative research environments Anders Björklund and Olle Lindvall are professors at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Lund. They have both participated significantly in the development of basic and clinical neurobiological sciences at the University of Lund. In 2000 they jointly received the prestigious Söderberg prize from the hands of princess Lilian, as seen in the picture to the right. Both obtained their PhD degrees at Bengt Falck's Department of Histology. Anders Björklund remained at the same department, whereas Olle Lindvall went to clinical neurolo-gy. However, they maintained close ties, and here describe how their successful program for restorative neurology emerged.
